GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES
To make it easier for you to use clean energy, there are lots of government incentives. They will either reduce the initial cost of your system or help you get money for the excess energy you produce. Government incentives are available in several forms (Federal and State-based) and differ according to your location.
Feed-in tariffs
Different states have different ways of rewarding you for the energy you produce. However, they all pay for your energy at a higher rate than you'd pay if you bought it.
If you're in SA, QLD, VIC, WA & TAS you receive net tariffs - excess energy gets sold back to the grid.
NSW and ACT offer gross tariffs, which means you get paid for all of the energy produced by your system, even if you've used it!
Don't worry, either way it doesn't count as taxable income!
REC ZONES
For the purpose of REC assesment, Australia has been divided in to 4 solar zones as shown in the map below.
RECS REBATES FOR PV SYSTEMS
When you invest in our solar PV systems, you will be issued additional RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates) by the Federal Government under the Solar Credits scheme. Eco Care Solar can purchase these credits at point of sale proportional to market value at the time, drastically reducing your upfront investment. The Solar Credits scheme offers a 3 times multiplier for the amount of RECs that you are entitled, applies to all PV installations for the first 1.5kW of that system and now there is no means test and no lengthy application approval process. After the first 1.5kW the RECS increase but at a normal rate.
RECs are calculated based on how many megawatt hours of electricity your system will generate over a 15 year period.
ECS use 190W panels and below are the RECS that are applicable for our different size systems.
